I bought a couple cars from Ricart, too... the first one at the
fantastic rate of 24.99%. Gotta love COCC. They were soooo nice to
give me an even better rate of 16% on the next car. I too was pushed
into buying a service contract I didn't want, but was told that it
made the car worth the "value" that the bank needed to
finance me. These people are crooks, and should refund the
hardworking men and women the money due them. J. R.
Why should we have to continue to go through this headache. Who
was the judge working for? Ricart? K. G.
It is ashamed that not only do we the American people have to
worry about terrorists, rising insurance cost, education for our
children and etc., but now we have a crooked business like Paydays
to watch out for!! Rich D.
This co takes advantage of hard working people that really need
transportation and do not have the best credit or a large down
pymt.they are not honest ,and most employees are not very
polite, they are very nasty when you go to make a pymt, especially in
the main office.they are very rude.the car we have now is not
working and we are still paying for it.was told it is only worth
2,500.and we pd over 9,000.00 for it.now we are stuck with a car
that does not run and would cost 2200.00 to fix.this co just closed
down over night with no explination to the consumers at all.its just
shamefull the way we have been treated.we are disabled and now have
no transporation to get to the dr.,or any where else.l V.B.
| We need a truely Honerable Judge to look into this and see
it for what it is. Not honerable if you pay them enough!!!!!
This has got to stop!!!!! If any JUdge alows this to continue,
they might as well be saying that it is ok to steal. And if
you do the "system" will be on your side????Running
through legal loopholes and hideing behind a legal system set
up to cater to the wealthy seems to be all these judges now
adays can do. About time we see one with some real balls step
up and stand for whats right!!!!! All I can say is the legal
system doesnt put an end to this and make things right with
those who have been wronged. Maybee it is time to look out
side the "envelope" and make justice happen for real
on our own. put that in your hat and think that over you so
called judge!!! H. K. |

is there no real justice in this world? How can crooks go on like
this and be supported by "the system"?There used to be a
day when honesty and intergraty ment something. now? if your not
stinking rich you might as well give up winning. what happened to
truth liberty and justise for ALL? Brian L.
I was ripped out of over $10,000 J.N.
My husband and I purchased a 1996 Plymouth Voyager vin
#2P4FP25B4TR560833 from Paydays North on 7/19/2002. We were told the
vehicle was inspected and certified. After three weeks we noticed a
problem with the transmission shifting. On August 17, 2002, my
husband took the vehicle back to Paydays and asked that he be sold
another vehicle. He was told that was not possible. We would have to
keep this vehicle at least 2 years. They offered no help in
rectifying the transmission problem. Because their limited 50/50
warranty only covered the vehicle for 2000 miles and we ad since
exceeded that. We tried to trade the vehicle in at another
dealership only to find the vehicle we will pay $15975.84 was only
worth $1500.00 blue book value. Since there is so much negative
equity we were unable to purchase another car from a different
dealer. The transmission has since exploded inside it's case and the
vehicle is no longer drivable. We are still paying Central Credit
Corporation each and every month. Our interest rate is 24.85%. I do
not know if this information will help you or us, but it was nice to
get it out in the open and sad to see that Ricart and Paydays have
taken advantage of so many people.

I leased a delta oldsmobile at paydays buy here-pay here in 2002
on August 26 with a trade-in(ford escort wagon 1993 which had
300,000 miles) I was told that there was some minor repairs that
would need to be done. all I had to do was call and make an appt
since it was so late in the day. Needless to say the repairs never
got done and I was called a liar by a female rep in the title
department or office. Furthermore, I did not receive the title until
January 2003 (after numerous times calling) I thus got a ticket for
expired tags and wrong Vin by the Springfield Police Department. In
addition, the Delta Oldsmobile which i acquired i found had a book
value of 3000 plus dollars. Paydays charged me 10,000 which included
financing. Central Ohio repoed the car in 2003 after stating i was
30 days late even though i had paid 300 dollars to. I was left
without a car and subsequently had to hitch rides
My vehicle was repossessed for being only a couple weeks behind.
After receiving a ton of harassing calls they came an took the
vehicle with all my work stuff inside. They wouldn't give me my
stuff back. A few weeks later I discovered a check written out of my
account to Paydays for the amount behind. It wasn't even my
handwriting.

I purchased a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier through Paydays Midtown in
Columbus, Ohio. I purchased Theft Gard. I was informed it was
required of all contracts for used car purchases. I was in bad shape
financially and the auto I made payments on was 10 times better than
what I previously owned. The auto itself was fine. I was just really
pissed about not having the option to say no considering I had full
coverage insurance (so why the need for Theft Gard?) and AAA Auto
Club.I was also harassed continually about payment. At one time in
mid 2001 I paid my account 5 payments early and I was still called
and harassed about my check bouncing. Only thing wrong was that I
had no checking account and I only paid with cash. Since I moved to
Kentucky I was advised by COCC to pay the car in full or return it
to Ohio. I wrote COCC a letter stating the car's address in Kentucky
and I have a certified signature that this letter was received.

This company sold me a car that was not even safe...The car had
to have numerous repairs...amounting to round 1500.00 and in
addition when i tried to get the payoff to trade the car in they
refused....I had to go thru a lot of car dealers...until I found a
dealership, with enough balls to demand payoff.....This company
sucks and has cost me a lot of money....They are in the business of
selling you a car that needs lots of work and then when you can't
pay the carpayment on time...They harass you and change you high
interest for late payment... R.M.
Theft Gard-Was never told
that this was part of package. when i signed at close of deal he
informed that this was standard on all thier deals. never did anyone
inform me that i had an option weather to get the ins. or not.

I too was taken by PayDays West. I purchased a 95 Chrysler
Concorde with 99,000 miles on it for $6,338 (allthough is it only
worth $1,600 at best) plus my theft guard. The car was supposedly
certified and safe. Immediately after purchase, I notice a strange
noise in the front suspension. I called PayDays and they told me
they didn't do that kind of work. My air conditioning unit was also
disconnected and they would take care of that.l After months of
haggling with them about the issues with the car the suspension
problem grew worse. At first they said tough, it is out of warranty.
I refused to budge. Finally they agreed to fix it for parts costs of
$660. I picked up the vehicle yesterday (3/17004) evening, paid for
the repairs, and left. I only made it across the street and went
over a speed bump at 5 mph and the left front tire disengaged from
its supports. I went back across the street to inform them and the
manager hid for 20 minutes before he would agree to talk to me. I'll
know more today. K. N.
Hi, my name is Henry. I bought a used car from
ricart van land about a year ago. I have never been more
then 30 days past due, although i have paid 5 to 15 days late on
my van payment. well recently i just got tired of the calls
they would make, even going as far as calling my employer and
references on my application. originally they had a phone
number but about 3 months ago i had that number disconnected and
later (a month) I got a new phone number, but never gave Central
ohio credit corp the new number. My wife made a payment last
month and wrote them a letter at the time of payment asking them
not to attempt to call us or our refrences or my employer but only
to correspond thru mail. well needles to say the C.O.C.C.
rep didnt like it and said that we had to be on time from now on
with all our payments our even if we were a day late they would
come and repo the van. Obvisouly my question is can
they do this? just becuase i only want to have correspondence thru
mail?
Sincerely:
From CC: I've had people complain they repoed vehicles that
were already paid for!
1990 Ford Probe, I bought for the BARGIN price of $6350.00. After
NUMEROUS problems with the car I said come get it!!! They harassed
all of the people in my family, violating the request to stop
calling and calling DAILY, Breaking Telemarketing law of giving out
"privileged" info.

I purchased a 94' Dodge dakota from Paydays in columbus ohio and
was told i had to purchase theft guard. Also c.o.c.c. likes to
harrass you if you are one day late on your payment. I have 6 months
until truck is paid off.
S.T.
We received a letter dated march 27 2003 stating the car was paid
off and will be releasing the title as soon as the check
cleared.then on july 2 2003 a repo company shows up at our house at
12.30 am wanting the car said that cocc had charged the acct. off
and wanted the car returned was the same day we recieved a letter
from cocc stating they had sent us many letters concerning this
acct. after we showed the 2 letters to the repo company he called it
in stating we had a letter stating this car was paid off and left.
K.H.
I was told the only way I could get
financed was to purchase the Theft guard and there was an additional
charge for Rustproofing that is not reflected on my original
invoice. Original price of vehicle was 16005.00. Seems high
for a 4 cylinder subcompact car.

I'm writing in regards to the Class Action Suits against
Ricart. My grandson and I along with our family was put through hell
day and night from them. A young mans first consumer experience was
a disaster and from everything that happened our entire family was
put through things that we never should have been, including having
to call the Police on their repo man.(he also told us while he was
here who owned the company, and names of other places he thought was connected
to Ricart),it was awful especially since we had just before that we
had lost a member of our family. I sent a complaint to the Ohio
General Attorneys Office, but they would'nt help at all I was
informed they would put it on a permanent file in case other people
complained. Paydays has these places all over the place. Also the
possibilty they're not turning what they make in to the IRS, since
evrything has to be paid in cash. The letters that I read from
your e-mails have a lot of the same things that happened to
us,right down to the same words and actions from their sales
people and managers.I'm trying to find a copy of the online
complaint I sent to the O.G.A.O,so I can give you all the correct
information. We do want to join your suit. Thank you For Your
Concern.A.F and M.W
Greetings!!
I just bought a used Van from paydays west, not knowing they
were part of Ricart, I even told the salesperson that I was ripped
off on the price of a car from Ricart, and that I would never deal
with them again...HE SAID NOTHING!!! It was only about five days
afterwards that I was told this. Anyway,
I bought a used car from them, only to find out I was ripped off
of about $4000.00. I started having problems 5 days after I bought
it. I was extremely angry, at their response, of, "what do
you expect out of a used car?"
I called the finance company and told them that I did not want to
pay for this vehicle, that I felt lied too, and deceived from this
company. They said there was nothing I could do, that I was still
responsible for the full payments. They got me on this theftguard
thing as well, they didn't even mention it to me, they just gave
us all of this paperwork to sign, and later found out that they
charged me for something they did not even explain to me. Thats
wrong!!
Now, I am having problems again with the van, and am tring to get
something done, where I wont have to put out more than it is
worth. I haven't even made a first payment on it yet! It is due on
the 06th, of November of this year...I WISH I NEVER BOUGHT THIS
FROM THESE PEOPLE! Is there any advise you can give to me...I am
pulling my hair out with this company, and don't know what to do?
Thanks in advance, Jake Kohl
I purchased a 1995 Chysler Cirrus on 9/30/99. I was told
financing would not be approved unless I purchased Theft-gard, Spot
Agreement and Fidelity Warranty agreements. I was also told that my
credit rating did not qualify me to purcharse GAP Insurance. I
advised the salesperson that I had the money to pay cash for it and
yet I was still denied this option.

Purchased a 1994 Chevy Beretta from them after being
"herded" away from what I wanted to purchase, financed
through their COCC at payment of $118 every two weeks. Purchased
vehicle in August 2000 but this past January (January 2003) my
payments have jumped to $233 every two weeks for no good reason
other than my becoming unemployed in January. This $7,000 car (what
I had to finance) will end up costing me more than twice that amount
once paid off. Have $4,000 balance on the car yet and being
relentlessly harassed by COCC. My requests about why the payments
have jumped to $233 have not yielded much but I was told they are
charging me interest on late payments and ultimately my $233
payments only end up putting something like $55 on the principal
each time and rest on interest and "adminstrative fees",
whatever that means. Car at $4,000 balance is not worth twice that
much. Purchased at PayDays/Motorland lot at Noe Bixby and Refugee
roads.
FROM CC: More complaints to be added soon. I have hundreds.
Next section will include threats of physical violence and
harassment of employers/Family members by COCC collection (Ricart's
Bank).
